Fun Projects

I am short on time, but really wanted you to have a new post for Monday.  I may even be all crazy and post it as soon as I’m done.  I live on the edge you know.

It’s been a very busy weekend.  Mostly unplugged since Friday.  Had a yard sale, saw movies, celebrated Fathers day…………you know….LIFE!

Crafts for kids

I found this gal by all the times she joined in the fun with Get Your Craft On.

The Gunny Sack

I love her ideas.  She has GREAT tutorials and has them easy to navigate on her site.  One that caught my eye right away was this candle project. All her projects can be used for activities for children.  Some may need a little assistance depending on the age of your child.

candle projects She’ll show you how she printed on tissue paper and used a heat gun to adhere it to her candle.  Very cool.  It’s on my list to try for sure.

I was easily impressed with her folded paper stars! paper stars She has a tutorial for all of you with patience.  Me?  Not in a million years would I try this. They would end up in a pile of torn paper.  Maybe that’s why I’m even more impressed with how she did not only one, but three.

It doesn’t matter how many times I see these glass bead magnets.  I never get tired of them.  I have some old vintage maps this would be perfect for.  diy glass magnetsI know many of you will love these flowers she made with leather.  I suppose you could use any type of fabric.  She shows a tutorial on how she made this cute hair tie.  Isn’t it cute?hair accessoriesYou’ll also love all the tutorials she has for the kids.  Perfect for this time of year.

Yarn bowls.  I have yet to try these, but I think it’s going to be on my list for my son’s summer project.  I’m sure he’ll figure out a way to make into the shape of a weapon. starch yarn bowlHow about some good ole fashioned fun with a whirly  button!  Something she learned from her grandmother.  And now she’s teaching us how to make projectsFor those of you with little ones.  I know you LOVE your felt food. She has free patterns you can download for personal use.  felt food pattern

And I’m happy  to find this yummy recipe I may try for my son’s teachers this week.  We will finally be out of school on Wednesday.  YEA!!!
