Seems like forever since I’ve featured a blogger! Now that the holidays are over, it’s onto home projects. Time to fluff the nest with a few before and after projects. Nothing gets me more motivated than a few good before and after shots.
Before and After Furniture
One of my most favorite things about blogging is meeting friends through this online connection. Meeting other bloggers. I met Vivienne a few weeks ago when she was in town for business. We had never met before in real life, but had connected a few times via twitter and facebook. Nice nice gorgeous gal who I totally thought I had featured, but she politely let me know I was wrong. Shocked, I vowed secretly to myself to get her featured ASAP! But it still had to be a surprise because that’s how I roll. No one knows when they’ll be featured. NO ONE.
Vivienne is a Before and After queen. She has many practical and some challenging projects on her site that I think you’ll find really helpful in fluffing your nest.
Even I wouldn’t have been able to see beyond the hideous camo paint job on that dresser. Her vision to turn it into a statement piece is amazing. Using cowhide……..not sure if it’s real……she transformed this dresser into a piece of furniture that really brings style to her home! She obviously has more skills and patience than I do. I should have kidnapped her when she was in my neck of the woods.
You’ve heard me say “PAINT IT” many time. Some of our furniture from the late 90s is screaming for a coat of paint. Like most men, her husband didn’t want her to paint this……what is up with Men and non-painted wood? Clearly he can see how much better this looks with a coat of fresh paint. She also frosted the glass doors. Great idea.
Before and After Decorating
This next paint job can be done on any ceramic piece you may find……What I had never thought of before was adding texture with paint. Brilliant! This ended up becoming a decorative platter for Thanksgiving, but easy enough to do for whatever holiday or event you have coming up. Look at that texture!
No I haven’t lost my marbles. I know that Halloween has come and gone, but she has SO many cool pumpkin ideas on her site, I couldn’t just not share them with you. Here’s just a peek. Loving the safety pin idea.
Vivienne is a sassy girl with great ideas. The kind of ideas that make you go WOW. Great place for some inspiration.
Head on over and let her know it’s the BEST DAY OF HER LIFE!
