DIY Home

Here’s another blogger I SWEAR I had already featured. Seriously. But searching my own site, I came up with nuttin. I love Kim’s site. She has so many diy home projects that are practical, stylish and do-able. I mean that as a compliment.

Sand and Sisal

Her solution to updating her kitchen island is something I think most of us could do without the help of our husbands.  The outcome is FABULOUS! It’s small touches like she’s added to her home decor that make your home more original. I think painting the island a different color adds style and charm.  She’s got such a good eye! kitchen island makeover update

DIY Tray

I’ve seen a lot of tray makeovers, but I haven’t seen one with Sea Glass. This is stunning and so perfect for the warm months ahead. No worries if you don’t have access to the beach, she bought her sea glass at a her local Pier One. She’s got a full tutorial with step by step instructions if you’re wanting to make one. diy tray

DIY Wall Decor

Keeping within the ocean theme, I love love love her sea shell art she did herself.  It looks like she bought it straight from Pottery Barn. This just goes to show that with a little imagination, a little glue, we can create wonderful things.

Another wonderful idea I found while on her site for wall decor, were the “chargers turned mirror” project. Another great idea!  Simple idea with a WOW outcome! If you’re thinking it doesn’t look so simple…….no worries.  She’s got another tutorial to walk you through each step.  making wall decor using chargers

Kim’s site is easy to navigate and has ideas for home decor, seasonal decor, recipes, and a few personal and touching stories.  I was surprised to learn recently that Kim is Beth’s sister.  I see talent at making your house a home runs in the family.

I hope you’ll visit Kim’s site and while your there finding inspiration, I hope you’ll let her know she’s been featured.  Maybe my blog will then be added her her “favorite blog list” :)

The tutorial on customizing a kitchen island from Sand and Sisal is fabulous! I’ve wanted to do something to my island, but wasn’t exactly sure “how” to do it. This is just what I’ve been looking for. Now I can say goodbye to my boring island! I’m going to use the same technique on the plain end cabinets. Thank you for the link!
