Door Sixteen

We love them! We can’t get enough of home renovations.  Give us a few before and after photos and that’s pretty much the equivalent to a being home alone with a couple of cupcakes.  Happy.

Door SixteenHome renovation- Door Sixteen

This is a “hip” blog. Really hip.  I get so absorbed in the lifestyle of Anna and her husband.

Orange lipstick & nails

They work in New York (she’s a book cover designer, how cool is that?) and they live the City of Newburgh, NY in their 1885 Victorian row house, about an hour from NYC.  But they also have a small tiny apt in NY for those late nights.

Her blog is mostly about renovating their very old home, although she has been sharing many of her NYC apt ideas as well. bathroom renovation It’s SO interesting to me.  I am shocked and amazed at the transformations.  What vision they have.  Completely self taught in this remodeling gig, they make it look like they’ve been doing it for hire.  They have had to do a LOT more than just paint a few walls.   Ikea is a favorite store of theirs………you will enjoy how Anna walks us through each room renovation, letting us in on any bargains they find, what paint colors they used, what problems they ran into etc…

Ikea Kitchen

I love a girl who will give up her secrets……..her bargain secrets, her design secrets.

I also love a girl who has good tutorials!  She shares how she designed a round box as the hider of all wires. Looks cool and serves a purpose.

Door Sixteen also shares other creative ideas.  She has a great tutorial on how she made a dog sweater from one of her husbands old sweaters.

I think you’ll love her blog.  I’m counting on all of you to make me look good……….leaving her comments.

I handpicked these links below….just for you.
