While I’m away attending and speaking at the BlogHer Conference (who’s idea was that anyway?) I’ve got an amazing team of bloggers who are willing to hold down the fort! Today’s Post: DIY Beach Inspired Hurricane Candle Holder from Cupcakes and Crinoline. These would go great with my Nautical Beach inspired candles I did a couple of years ago or with the Anchor applique pillows. These burlap and doily luminaries are great too! So thrilled to have her back! She shared her grilled peaches recipe the last time! Enjoy!
DIY Beach Inspired Hurricane Candle Holder
I really love beach inspired decor but I don’t usually like the price tag. I have been seeing seagrass accents on hurricane candle holders and loved the look so decided to try to recreate the look for less. You only need a few things to make your own Beach Inspired DIY Hurricane Candle Holder and you can get most of the items from the dollar store.
How to Make a Beach Inspired Hurricane Candle

I started by washing my vase well and making sure there was no residue so that the hot glue would stick. You can wipe your glass vase with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol just to be sure your have a clean surface to work with.
Start at the bottom side of the vase and apply hot glue a little bit at a time attaching the rope to the vase as you go along. Wrap it up as high (or low) as you prefer.
Add the sand and insert candle in the center pushing down to make sure it is secure.
Place seashells around the candle.
Add crystals to the rim of your Hurricane Candle Holder for some extra glamour.
There you have it ~ a 5 minute start to finish Beach Inspired Hurricane Candle Holder for less than $3.00.
