Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake

Be sure to spread the batter evenly. I didn't and one side of my cake was higher. But it still tasted just as good!
Recipe type: Dessert
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (real mayo, not salad dressing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cold water
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add dry ingredients and stir.
  3. Fold in Mayo.
  4. Stir in vanilla and water
  5. Beat until smooth - I used my mixer.
  6. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13x9 inch pan. (I didn't flour it and it was just fine)
  7. Bake 30-35 min. Do the toothpick test, inserting it into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, it's done!
