There have been so many great ideas shared for my Celebrate Summer Series! Today I have Salvage Sister and Mister sharing her Farmhouse Galvanized Bucket idea. I LOVE the farmhouse look and I bet many of you do too!
She is a thrifting gal after my own heart. Keep reading to see how she found a diamond in the rough and polished it to the perfect farmhouse style. If you’re looking for more diy ideas like this farmhouse galvanized bucket, you’ll love this Watercolor Chalk painted vase made from a mason jar, or this Mod Podge Storage Cabinet Makeover.
I am so excited to be here today.
Thank you Kim for allowing me to share this fun upcycle project with you and your readers.
My name is Deborah, and I blog with the hubby at Salvage Sister & Mister. Our mission {passion} is to help you in~
Salvaging your time, money, resources and moments for your best life!
Recently I was at a thrift store, okay I’m there a lot, and came upon this cute little galvanized bucket for $1.00. Ummmm, yeah….I’ll take that off your hands!
FARMHOUSE GALVANIZED BUCKET
Now the label is not really our style but farmhouse is (at least Salvage Sister).
I could have spent awhile trying to scrap it off, and I think that would have worked, but I really didn’t have a ton of time to do that. I also wasn’t sure it would leave scratches on the bucket.
Burlap to the rescue. I mean when isn’t burlap the answer?
There were a few scraps leftover in the craft room so why not use them to cover up the label?
I just cut squares from the scrap burlap and frayed the edges a bit.
Attaching the burlap patches with a hot glue gun to the can made for simple work.
Finally, I stenciled on the No.3 and added a plant.
All the supplies I had so it didn’t cost anything other than the $1.00 thrifted item.
We are really passionate about make the most with what you have. Thrifting/upcycling is a great way to do just that. You think you don’t have enough money to have that look…think again!
Whatever obstacle you find in your path, we hope to encourage you to find a way around it!
Here are a few other projects we think you will enjoy:
