Once the puff pastry is thawed, unfold it and give it a light roll out with a rolling pin. I usually do this right on a parchment paper prepared baking sheet so I don't have to move it.

Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut outside sections to the center. Cut the top and bottom side pieces off.

Fillings can be savory or sweet. Match the flavor with the season.

Fold up the end piece over filling.

Beat one egg with a couple of tablespoons of water and brush over the braid.

Bake at 400 degrees F. for 18-20 min or until golden brown.
