I am ALL about quick and easy crafts that bring a little more creativity to your space.
I know some of you don’t consider yourself crafty, but I’m letting you know that these DIY Jewel Thumbtacks don’t take a lick of talent.
DIY Jewel Thumbtacks
Not only are these thumbtacks so much prettier than a plain white tack, but they’ll always remind me of my dear friend Jen from Tater Tots and Jello. We started blogging around the same time and we became fast friends soon after.
We usually see each other a couple of times a year and I always make a point of stopping by her cottage while I’m vacationing in Utah each summer. I posted this photo of us on instagram. I should have known better than to show up at Jen’s home with no make up on and needing my roots touched up. She always takes a selfie with her friends!
Not only is Jen’s cottage that she remodeled AMAZING, but I also couldn’t be more excited and proud of Jen as she kicks off her creative line of products.
Jen Hadfield HOME + MADE
I opened my box and it was full of so many fun items to create items for my home. So many of the products are also great for making cards, and scrapbooking layouts.
I’ve been using bits and pieces around the house for different projects or gift making. It sure makes things easy when you have products that are ready to go and perfectly coordinated. I used one of the chalkboard signs in my Teen Basement Makeover for a quick piece of wall decor.
Once I opened up my box of goodies, I was instantly drawn to the shiny jewel stickers. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them and I knew it would be a super easy and fast craft all of you would also appreciate!
How to Make DIY Jewel Thumbtacks
You’ll need the following:
- flat head thumbtacks
- Jen’s jewel stickers (on sale for $2.99!)
- adhesive – regular craft glue works great.
Even though the jewels are sticky on the back, I added a little adhesive just to make sure they stick forever!
All you do is add a small drop of adhesive to the head of your thumbtack and place the jewel sticker on top. That’s it! If it’s extra goopy, I stick the tack into a piece of stryofoam or cardboard to hold the tack until it dries.
How cute are those? And that gift tag….. yep, it’s from Jen’s line too!
You can find Jen’s line of products at Pebbles in my Pocket online.
This project couldn’t be easier and probably took me 5 minutes to complete. Wouldn’t they make great gifts? Because, who doesn’t love a little bling!
