Ombre St. Patrick’s Day Votives
Hi TCB readers! I cannot tell you how excited I am to share some crafty goodness with you today.

I don’t know about you, but St. Patrick’s Day kind of sneaks up on me every year. Wedged right in between Valentine’s Day and Easter, St. Patrick’s Day should have a few pretty things to celebrate as well. I decided to put together a really simple vignette on top of my bookcases that run the length of my living room. Once I began putting it together, it was missing something important.
Glitter. A girl has to have her glitter.
Supplies for making your Ombre St. Patrick’s Day Votives:

- Small half-pint mason jars
- Mod Podge
- Foam craft brush
- Green glitter in 3 shades (I picked mine up from Jo-Ann’s)
- Green & white striped ribbon (also from Jo-Ann’s)
- I began by applying a layer of Mod Podge around the base of the jar. I chose the dark green for this area, and sprinkled it over the Mod Podge generously.
- Next, I applied the medium green, then the light green last.
- I attached a strip of contrasting ribbon and placed a tea light inside. Just what we needed, a little bit of glitter.

I loved the project. But it occurred to me that you could turn those into pots of gold. Just struck me as the leprechaun thing to do. lol!
