4th of July – Make it Special

4th of July Craft

Unbelievable what you can do with a little Mod Podge.  Love the stuff.  Need to play with it more often.  I love the idea of this craft for 4th of July and all the possibilities it gets me thinking about.mod podge crafts Using a free printable from a past feature of mine, Emily exercised her style with a bit of mod podge, fabric, sand paper and crafty skills.  She created a piece of art for the 4th of July holiday, but really………you could use it year round.  mod podge

ReMarkable Home

4th of July Dessert

Another fabulous blog full of great ideas to make your home a better place with doable ideas and projects. It’s the projects that are quick but amazing that make me pay attention.  Remember I’m a lazy crafter, not nearly as talented as the rest of you. But I can dip a mean strawberry.  Dipped Strawberries will impress anyone.  And seriously, they couldn’t be easier.  Really.  I pick up candy melts from Michael’s or the grocery, some big pump strawberries and just dip away.  I saw this idea in a magazine too, so I was happy to see a reminder on her blog.  Using vanilla dipping chocolate and really blue sprinkles, you’ve got yourself a very impressive 4th of July picnic hostess gift.

dipped strawberriesrecovered furnitureStenciling…….not so easy in my book. But with a couple of run tries it should work.  I have recovered a chair pad and surprisingly, very easy.  Painting any old chair instantly adds style.  Don’t you agree?  This is so cute.

I was happy to see a few party ideas on her blog too.  Mustaches are all the rage.  She has all the information on her site with the details of her Mustache party.  She even has a free printable.  The party was full of details. From the bow tie cookies, to the chocolate mustaches……it was a hit.mustach themeAnother party I’ve seen pop up a few times, is a Milk and Cookies party.  Again…….pretty simple to throw together but packs that impressive punch.  It’s all in the details people.  Flavored milk, take home bags…….love it all.  boys birthday partyYou’ll find a variety of topics on her blog. Decorating, crafts, parties, cooking.  In fact she has a yummy recipe for fried ravioli. Yum!

Be the first few to surprise her and let her know she’s been featured and I’ll give you a friendly shout out on my facebook page.   You really do make their day.  it’s always nice to be recognized. Spread the love.

LOVE the chair — beautiful & versatile stencil {where can i find one??!!} — and planning a milk & cookies theme for my sweet kiddos bday this fall – love the idea of leaving the milk IN the container vs. sitting out in glasses. thanks for the tip!

I’m new to the world of decoupage, but have completed a couple of projects successfully, minus the last step…where the heck do you find “finishing spray” so that the project will not have that tacky feel to it, like decoupaged blocks for a child…no one wants to get sticky blocks. Is there a “special spray” or is there something generic I can use.
Oh, LOOOVEEE the strawberry idea. am hosting a baby shower soon and will totally use this. Thanks!
