Easy DIY Mini Cake Stand

While I’m prepping for my BlogHer trip (I know….another trip…….sheesh!) I am happy to have my friend Melinda from Melinda Tomasello fill in today. She is one talented lady! She is sharing this EASY DIY Mini Cake Stand tutorial. I love making cake plates! Making this miniature cake stand is so easy, you’ll wonder why you waited this long to make it!

Easy DIY Mini Cake Stand

This is a fun DIY craft you can make in an afternoon.

Some call them cake plates and some call them cake stands. It doesn’t matter what you call them, you just gotta make one!

These mini cake plates are great for any type of entertaining and make adorable table décor for weddings and baby showers. {see matching numbered image 1-6}

How to Make a Miniature Cake Stand

DIY Cake Stand Supplies Needed:

Gather your supplies
Create the plate liner. Using the ceramic plate as a template (unless your doily is a smaller one that fits)
Trace it on the backside of one of the doilies
To create a decorative edge on the doily, cut it out with the scalloped edged scissors.
Line the edge of the egg cup with adhesive
Attach the eggcup to the underside of the plate with the adhesive edge. Try not to glob on the glue, use enough to keep it secure. Be sure to follow the directions on the adhesive package to allow enough time for it to properly dry.

Once the plate is dry just place the doily on top and you are ready to go. You now have a DIY Miniature Cake Plate!
